The time of the year where everyone is supposed to be super cheery, but instead pushing each other to get that last superhero toy for their grandchild.
Kidding. Kind of.
Holidays are great but can add so much unwanted stress to anyone hosting a party or just getting gifts together. Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Years. Are you ready?
Pour another glass of wine and let's get started.
Spend the holidays at home this year. You're in your own zone and have complete control. Plus, you get to eat Santa's cookies. That's a win.
Limit your optional events. Making travel plans at the busiest time of the year is too much pressure. If you don't feel the need to be there, then don't. Extra trips will drive you crazy. Who wants to put on pants if they are not required, right?
Don't try too hard to be Martha Stewart. I know, she is Queen and everyone wants to be the envy with their dish at the dinner table. Although, spending days slaving over the perfect meal isn't necessarily what the holidays are about. I'm ordering Papa John's for Thanksgiving. Judge me.
Do not shop til you drop. Shopping is fun, but not when you have to fight through crowds and your feet ache from hours in the mall. Put together a list of the things you know you need to wrap up for a loved one and try to make it easier on yourself. Also, online shopping comes into play & you can avoid the holiday chaos.
Give yourself a time out. You don't have to get everything done all at once. Buy yourself a gift, you deserve it. Oh, and it's time to pour another glass of wine, my friend.
Be thankful for the craziness that is your life. What would you do without those screaming kids and your barking dog? You love those hellions.
Make a to-do list. Stay organized. That's half the battle.
Do your shopping early. I know that there is a procrastinator deep down in all of us, but you'll be so happy when you have everything purchased and have time to enjoy the fun stuff.
And again..
Pour. More. Wine.
Happy Holidays & Happy Tuesday!
